Dear ANET, How about creating a reward for PUG play?
With all the changes made in the game, it's sad to see that the Guild Wars world has evolved mainly into parties formed with Hero/Hench groups.
How about creating a reward for PUG play?
An example, completely clearing an Sorrows Furnace in Hard Mode with a full party (no heros or henches) You can even make it more unique by requiring only one of each primary class. In the end, a special chest would appear with something unique for everyone (maybe a cool customized mini pet).
It cant be that hard to implement code chances which would check when all monsters have been cleared, team build, and special reward.
This would encourage team play, which is almost extinct in todays game.
Throw us a bone, give us something new every once in awhile!!!

How does limiting you to one of each class in a group encourage team play?

This can encourage a bit more co-operation and may make anti-social people fail. No need for the constraint on professions, just an additional rewards for a full PUG party.

So... the cookie cutter builds only teams win.
Sorry, but no thanks. There are many reason I don't play with random people.

Theoretically sounds great - I like the idea very much.
Back in the good old days, it was always PUG to FOW/Underworld - hardly ever use henchies

/signed becuase people can choose to PUG if they want. And if ANet wants to reward them for it GG...
But even if there was a reward, I still wouldn't PUG.
Any virtual reward cannot outweigh the real life frustration of PUGing...

Exactly. Every PUG I've ever been in, i'm not 3 minutes into the mission, and one or two people say "gotta go pee." Then they never come back. Or they will just zone out, or go afk, or say "gtg." Or worse yet, they play but are worse than actually being afk. They will go aggro 20 foes or something.
I say, if we are going to encourage PUGs, and a member of the group leaves, each remaining person gets 1k from that person's storage, automatically transferred by game mechanics. THEN I might use PUGs.

There was a reward for all of the old players that did pugging.
It's called "heroes".
And now we never have to suffer that again.

I think it'd be fun, and it would bring back Sorrow's Furnace for a short while too.
I'd wonder if Anet would turn it into a title reward instead, though.. (1) I play with nubs, etc. I don't think I'd like that.
Your idea would be fun I think, so I will..

I think the reward for pugging is the fame and gladiator titles.

1 Primary in a group? Are you insane! Groups for NM or HM usually have at least 2 monks.

Stop trying to force people to play together. If you want to group, get a guild. It's really sad to have to bribe the user base into playing together.

Any guild that has at least 8 players could . It's not the point, guildies are already "socializing", it's more about the incentive for PUGing again (I will always remember 2 months ago finishing Factions with a PUG, it took us 3 tries but we then got Master's and it was fun I wish to everyone to get that XP). Yeah sure, it may give a bit bragging rights to active guilds, but whatever?
The reward could be like the one proposed on the /thank thread, i.e., a small graphical bonus like wings or flashing aura. Nothing that would give an in-game advantage. Or may be an advantage when PUGing?

My point was that it won't have any effect on people who are in an active guild that does things together. It may influence others to PUG rather than H/H, but I doubt if it would have a large overall effect. A lot of people (myself included) are very jaded about PUGing do to past experiences. I only PUG now if it is positively, absolutely, undeniably necessary.

i agree one of my loves of guild wars was entering an area with a party of people and having fun...now i cant play with real people...and talking to AI is not fun
(not with your suggestion but the idea that it is getting sad that you cant get player groups anymore)

How can you exploit a customized mini pet? That was the given example, and even other reward ideas could be customized goodies.

Perhaps 'exploit' was the wrong word to use.
The OP suggested a reward for full parties (no hero/hench). A mini pet was only one of several suggestions made (please read more carefully ~~ "maybe a cool customized mini pet"). If the same customized reward was given time after time then the original suggestion would not be valid as it would only encourage people to PUG once.
If each run offered a unique (even customized) reward than a guild group could do it over and over, bypassing the intent to entice people to PUG.

But this has no impact on anyone but these guys repeating the PUG. I doesn't change the situation for the other people that find this an incentive to PUG.
Worst case: people don't PUG more, no change of situation.
Best case: people PUG more, which implies that they're more "sociable" (if they were not, the PUG wouldn't work).
So it looks beneficial?
